Costa Verde: the wildest Sardinia
Torre dei Corsari is the heart of the Costa Verde, the western strip of Sardinia that remains wild and barely built up: golden dunes rising as high as 60 metres, crystal-clear water shading to emerald, mountains plunging straight down to the coast. Propertize curates holiday homes, villas and apartments in Torre dei Corsari and the surrounding hamlets, so that every stay is immersed in nature without giving up a single comfort.
In our portfolio you'll find villas with a pool and sea view, beachfront apartments in Torre dei Corsari and Pistis, and standalone homes inland towards Marrubiu and Arbus. The area is perfect for those who want sea and nature alike: couples after a holiday home with a view over the sunset for a romantic escape, families who love being close to the landscape, hiking and nature-photography enthusiasts and anyone seeking authentic experiences far from mass tourism.
"Terrace on the Dune": 5 homes with a dune view and a sunset
The jewel of our Costa Verde portfolio is the "Terrace on the Dune" series: five properties (Terrace on the Dune 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), all facing the golden dunes of Torre dei Corsari, each with a private terrace and an open sea view to the west. The Costa Verde looks straight out towards the western Mediterranean, which means one thing: spectacular sunsets every evening, to be savoured from the terrace with a glass of Vermentino. They are holiday homes with a dune view, holiday homes with a sunset view and beachfront holiday homes all at once: a combination hard to find anywhere else in Sardinia.

The beaches of the Costa Verde
The beach at Torre dei Corsari stretches for more than 2 km: pale sand, turquoise sea and granite rocks at either end. Further north, Pistis is a beach of brilliant white sand, popular with locals. A few minutes to the south: Funtanazza and Porto Maga, two sheltered bays tucked between cliffs. Scivu, 5 km away, is a 4 km stretch of sand among dunes and junipers: one of the wildest beaches in Sardinia. The iconic Piscinas dunes, reachable in 20 minutes along a dirt track, are among the highest in Europe (up to 60 metres) and home to the Sardinian deer. Further south again: Capo Pecora, a granite headland with crystal-clear water and spectacular sunsets.
Services on this coast are very few, and that is worth knowing before you set off: which beaches have a kiosk and which have nothing, where the tarmac ends, and how to walk on the dunes without damaging them are all in our guide to the Costa Verde and Torre dei Corsari.
Hiking, mines and nature
The Piscinas dunes, the mining villages of Ingurtosu and Montevecchio, the seven kilometres of Scivu. Where the tarmac ends, what you will not find, and how to walk on the dunes without damaging them are in our guide to the Costa Verde.
The cuisine of western Sardinia
On the Costa Verde the food is simple: fish at Torre dei Corsari, malloreddus and cheese as you climb towards Arbus. There are few places and out of season they close: in the house we note which ones stay open.
Getting there and when to go
Torre dei Corsari is around 90 km from Cagliari-Elmas airport: 1 hour and 15 minutes by car. From Oristano: 1 hour. From Alghero: 1 hour and 45 minutes. A car is essential for exploring the area: the great strength of the Costa Verde is precisely the freedom to reach remote beaches and dunes entirely under your own steam. The swimming season runs from May to October; September and June are our guests' favourite months for the balance of temperature and crowds. From November to April the area offers a different kind of holiday: hiking, photography, food and excursions to the mines.
Why choose a Propertize home in Torre dei Corsari
Propertize holiday homes on the Costa Verde are selected to offer an experience, not simply a place to sleep: villas with a sea view and a pool, apartments a few steps from the beach, country homes nestled in the Mediterranean scrub. Every property has a fully equipped kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, hotel-quality linen, a welcome kit with local products, a dedicated check-in and 24/7 assistance during active stays in Italian, English, French, Spanish and German. If you own a home on the Costa Verde and are looking for professional management of your short-term rentals, we offer a free assessment.
On the Costa Verde the house matters more than elsewhere, because there is almost nothing outside it. If something is missing you do not pop out to buy it: that is why we look at the kitchen, the fridge and the sun protection far more than the view.
The other thing to know before booking: the mistral blows here, and in August that is a blessing. A sheltered outdoor space is worth more than a panoramic terrace, and when you write to us we will tell you which of our homes actually has one.
