The garden becomes a natural extension of the home: a barbecue for evening grills, an outdoor dining area beneath the pergola, lawn and fragrant Mediterranean planting. It is more than physical safety: it is a space where children explore, run and play without parents having to keep a constant watch. Poetto in Cagliari is the great city beach: lifeguarded, easy to reach, with parking, kiosks and full facilities, ideal for a day by the sea without too much planning. Pittulongu in Olbia offers calm water in a naturally sheltered bay, just 10 minutes from the airport, perfect for those arriving late who want to be by the sea straight away. Golfo Aranci, north of Olbia, has water of extraordinary clarity with a gradual shelf and little swell, a classic for families in northern Sardinia.
What to pack and how to plan a holiday with children
A hire car is essential for exploring the most beautiful beaches and reaching the supermarkets, especially with young children. Book in advance to secure the best prices and be sure to request a child seat. For babies and children up to three, get in touch before booking: we arrange the delivery of a travel cot, high chair and baby bath. The afternoon, when the heat is at its strongest (2 pm–5 pm), is the ideal moment to rest or to explore Cagliari's old town, the fortress at Villasimius or stop for an ice cream in the village. Bring high-protection sun cream, sun hats and a light first-aid kit. For the wilder beaches, water shoes and armbands for younger children are very useful.
